Nativity Display

Our stake has been given the assignment to locate 5 nativities for the Museum of Idaho Old Fashioned Christmas and Winter Festival from December 8th to January 4th.  If you have one you would like to have displayed, please contact Sister Strupp.  Sister Neeley from the stake will contact you with a time to set it up or Sister Strupp would do it for you.  Also the stake needs 8 volunteers on December 30th, 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.  It won't involve a lot of standing.  The volunteers will be in charge of seeing that the displays are kept safe and untouched.  Over 11,000 people visited the exhibit last year.

Thought

There is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
So... work like you don't need money.
Love like you've never been hurt, and,
Dance like no one's watching.

Honey Lime Enchiladas

3 large frozen chicken chests
2 T. Chili Powder
1 t. Garlic Powder
1/2 C. Line Juice
2/3 C. Honey

Place 1 T. butter in crock pot and 3 chicken chests.  Cook on high for about 4 hours.  Remove and shred.  Mix the above ingredients and put on shredded chicken and put back in crock pot on low for 1/2 hour.

Shredding tip--stick your normal hand mixer into the crock pot with the chicken in it and it will shred the chicken for you.

Fill tortilla shells with chicken & Mozzarella cheese and roll up.  Spray a 9 x 13 pan.  Take green chili enchilada sauce and pour about 1 cup in bottom of pan.  Take rolled up enchiladas and place in pan and poor more enchilada sauce on top and sprinkle with cheese.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  Enjoy

Weekday Meeting In Review

For those of you who missed our weekday meeting last Thursday, we were privileged to listen to Sister Nebeker explain our God-given personalities and gifts.  We learned why we are the way we are, what personality traits we have, why we should celebrate our gifts that God has given us.  Each one of us is special and we all need to learn to better use our gifts.  It was a great night enjoyed by all who came.  And in case you were wondering---Sister Strupp is a definite Type 3!

Happy Thanksgiving!

High Lights

We are so excited to welcome Jane Smith as our new Relief Society Secretary.  We know that she will be a great addition to our Relief Society.

Thank you to everyone who helped with Brother Alversons Funeral.  The family greatly appreciated all you did.

Update for Brother Allred - He is doing fine and should be home recuperating now.

December's Weekday Relief Society meeting will be December 9th at 6:30 p.m.  It is for all adults in the ward and friends too.  Be sure to mark this on your calendar!

Weekday Meeting

For hundreds of years we lived with our Heavenly Father and our families.  There our personalities developed and we became who we are.  When we came to earth we brought with us a specific set of gifts which we were to use to encourage, bless, and bring back home with us all we could.  Come join us November 17th at 7:00 p.m. where Krista Nebeker will help us celebrate our light and remind us of those gifts that were given specifically to us!

Brother Jeff Alverson

Brother Alverson's funeral will be Monday November 14th at 1:00 p.m. in Chehalis, Washington.  There will be a viewing from 11-12:30 that morning.  There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at the Mountainview Cemetery in Pocatello, Idaho on Wednesday, November 16th.  A luncheon will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Chubbuck 1st and 2nd ward building on the corner of Hawthorne and Chubbuck.

Please continue to remember them in your prayers.

Alversons

Brother Jeff Alverson passed away Thursday morning about 8:00 a.m.  He was able to pass away at home with his family there.  He has been in a great deal of pain and this was a blessing.  Julie wants to thank everyone for all of their prayers.   She said that she CAN feel them.  Please continue to remember them in your prayers as they go through this difficult time.   This quote reminds us of him.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW!--what a ride!

He will be missed by all who know him.

Thank you

Thank you sisters for all your help with the funeral on Wednesday.  We had more than enough food and the family was very grateful.  Thank you for your service!

Alversons

Most of you will remember Jeff and Julie Alverson and their family.  We do miss them!  We wanted everyone to know that Jeff is not doing well.  His cancer is back and he had to quit work about a month ago.  He is pretty much confined to his bed and probably only has days left.  The family is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.  Julie said it is amazing how you can be going through such a big trial and still receive so many blessings.  Please remember them in your prayers.  If you would like to send a note please contact Karen Nelson for an address.
