Lesson Recap

The lesson was #21 Proclaiming the Gospel to the World. President Joseph Fielding Smith said," We have heard that we are all missionaries. … We are all set apart, not by the laying on of hands; we have not had a special calling; we have not been singled out to do missionary labor, but as members of the Church, having pledged ourselves to the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ we become missionaries. That is part of the responsibility of every member of the Church.
With a heart full of love for all men, I ask the members of the Church to learn and live the gospel and to use their strength, energy, and means in proclaiming it to the world. We have received a commission from the Lord. He has given a divine mandate. He has commanded us to go forth with unwearying diligence and offer to his other children those saving truths revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Our mission, I say, is, so far as it is within our power, to regenerate, to bring to repentance, just as many of the children of our Father in heaven as it is possible for us to do. … That is an obligation the Lord has placed upon the Church, and more particularly upon the quorums of the priesthood of the Church, and yet this obligation belongs to every soul."
May we all strive to learn the gospel and live it so that we may be Christlike examples and help others find the fullness of the gospel.

Ward Choir

Christmas is just around the corner. Our ward choir will be singing in Sacrament meeting on Dec 21st. It is NOT too late for you to join in on the wonderful experience of singing praises to our Heavenly Father in Gratitude for his Son and the miracle of his Holy Birth. Choir practice is every Sunday before Sacrament Meeting at 12:10 p.m.

Stake Choir

Stake Members,
The weeks are passing quickly and this is another reminder of choir practice. We have had 3 practices and there are 8 left on October 9, 16, 23, 30, and November 6, 13, 20, Tuesday the 25th. The Fireside is December 2nd at 7:00 pm.
We really need more men to participate in the choir. If you haven't been coming, and could possibly work it into your busy schedules, you would be doing a great service! We hope to see everyone at the stake center Thursday from 7:30-9:00 pm. It is rather difficult to begin practice with only a few people there at 7:30. If we could be there at 7:30 sharp, it would help!
Thanks for your support. This will be an amazing celebration of our Savior's life, as we sing our "Praise to the Lord"!!!

Lesson Recap

Our lesson this week was #20 Love and Concern for All Our Father's Children. President Joseph Fielding Smith said, "I think if all men knew and understood who they are, and were aware of the divine source from whence they came, and of the infinite potential that is part of their inheritance, they would have feelings of kindness and kinship for each other that would change their whole way of living and bring peace on earth."
Krishaun shared a quote from Bonnie D. Parkin, she said," Do we judge one another? Do we criticize each other for individual choices, thinking we know better, when in fact we rarely understand another’s unique circumstance or individual inspiration? Have we ever said, “She works outside the home.” Or, “Her son didn’t serve a mission.” Or, “She’s too old for a calling.” Or, “She can’t—she’s single.” Such judgments, and so many others like them, rob us of the good part, that pure love of Christ.
We also lose sight of that good part when we compare ourselves to others. Her hair is cuter, my legs are fatter, her children are more talented, or her garden’s more productive—sisters, you know the drill. We just can’t do that. We cannot allow ourselves to feel inadequate by focusing on who we aren’t instead of on who we are! We are all sisters in Relief Society. We simply cannot criticize, gossip, or judge and keep the pure love of Christ."
May we all obey the second great commandment which is to love thy neighbor as thyself! CHARITY NEVER FAILETH!!!
