Bishop

For those of you not there Sunday Bishop announced that we will be getting a new
Bishopric this  Sunday. Thanks to Bishop Bolander, Brother Smith, Brother Davidson and the
other men who work with them for all the time they have put in on behalf the ward members and the
love we have felt from them. Thanks too to their families for supporting them so they could do what the
Lord asked them to do.

Last Day for Pies

This coming Sunday is the last day to turn in money for the pies for the Shelley Food Bank. They use these pies for the Thanksgiving food boxes.
We are still short on what we need to cover the 125 pies. If you feel that you can, please give generously. These pies are part of helping make
someone’s Thanksgiving a special day.

Last Week's Lesson Recap

Sunday's lesson was on Prayer- a Commandment and a Blessing. President Joseph Fielding Smith said," Prayer is something that humbles the soul. It broadens our comprehension; it quickens the mind. It draws us nearer to our Father in heaven. We need his help; there is no question about that. We need the guidance of his Holy Spirit. We need to know what principles have been given to us by which we may come back into his presence. We need to have our minds quickened by the inspiration that comes from him; and for these reasons we pray to him, that he may help us to live so that we will know his truth and be able to walk in its light, that we may, through our faithfulness and our obedience, come back again into his presence."

Pies for the Shelley Food Bank

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and we are once again helping provide pies for the Shelley Food Bank.
If you would like to donate please turn your money in to one of the members of the Bishopric. Use a donation
slip and put “pies” in the other spot of the slip. We need the money turned in by Nov 23rd.

Presidency Message

It seems like this past month that the world has gone crazy and dumped more than its fair share of problems and heartache on the members of our ward. My family is no exception. There have been many days that I have sat and cried and asked, “Why me?” We all feel this way at one time or another. Yet, within all the heartache, stress, and tears there have been rays of light shining through the darkness. I have a picture on my living room wall of Christ. In one hand He is holding a lamp and the other hand is reaching out towards the viewer. In the background is a dark barren world. I love this picture. It is a daily reminder to me that I am not alone, my Savior is always there reaching out His hand to me to lead me through my day. He has promised that He will not forsake us and He always keeps His promises. Every day He gives us tender mercies to let us know He is there and mindful of us, we just have to look for them. We need to remember that the Lord is in control. The experiences we have are tailored to help us grow and become the sons and daughters of God we need to become. So when you feel like you are drowning in the stormy sea of life remember, “He’s closer than you know, reach up He’ll take your hand.

Love,
