Sister Irene Campbell gave a wonderful lesson on
Our Search For Truth
It is a requirement that is made of us, as members of
this Church, to make ourselves familiar with that which
the Lord has revealed, that we may not be led astray.....
How are we going to walk in the truth if we do not know
it?
As we put our lives in harmony with the truth, the Lord
increases our light and understanding.

Stake Challenge
Our Stake President, Mark Searle, has issued several
challenges to be completed in the next 100 days before the anniversary
of the forming of our Stake. He promised us that as we strive
to accomplish these goals, our homes will be blessed and we will become
closer to our families as well as our Heavenly Father. They are as
follows:
1. Read the Book of Mormon in 100 days. This comes out to about 2 1/2 chapters per day or 5-6 pages. There are tracking sheets available at church to help you progress.
2. 100% Home Teaching/Visiting Teaching.
3. 100% Family and Individual Prayer.
4. Index 100 Names.
5. Attend the temple as frequently as possible in the next 100 days.
6. Invite someone to listen to the missionaries within the next 100 days.
Let us all accept these challenges to the best of our abilities so that we may each be blessed.

Stake Challenge
Sisters, see recent posts for the Stake Challenge regarding the anniversary of the Shelley Stake. I will reprint it next week. Regarding the 100 names to index, this can be done by anyone. I am told that it is not hard. We can all learn to do this provided you have a computer. Joy Price has volunteered to help anyone needing help with this. Just give her a call. Also, our ward family history consultants are all ready to help. They will be having another family history help night, Thursday evening, May 22nd in the room across from the library. This would be a great time to go and learn to index. On the committee are the Hamiltons, Trish Dixon, Peggy Pincock, Jordan Cook, Randy Lundquist, Sarena Gneiting and others. They have computers ready for you there.
Lesson Recap
Witnesses of the book of Mormon
Sister Heather Olson gave an inspiring lesson on the Witnesses of the Book of Mormon.
From the life of Joseph Fielding Smith. " It seems to me that any member of this churchwould never be satisfied until he or she had read the Book of Mormon time and time again and thoroughly considered it so that he or she could bear witness that it is in very
deed a record of inspiration of the Almighty upon it.
The Book of Mormon is a sacred record that contains the everlasting gospel and bears witness of Jesus Christ. Each member can be a witness of the Book of Mormon, as we continue to read the Book of Mormon sincerely and prayerfully.

Stake President Challenge
Last Tuesday night was the beginning of several celebrations to be held in honor of the Shelley Stake of Zion being formed. Our Stake was officially formed August 16, 1914. This August 16th will be the 100th anniversary of the forming of our Stake.
The concert Tuesday night was exceptional and featured the Stake choir as well as a strings quartet and a youth and primary choir. In connection with the 100th anniversary, our Stake President, Mark Searle, has issued several challenges to be completed in the next 100 days before the anniversary in honor of the forming of our Stake. Presidency Message
Happy Mother's Day! For many sisters, Mother's Day is not a celebration. It seems to be a reminder of all the things they are not. Young mothers are not the patient person spoken of and sung about in Sacrament meeting. Some sisters are alone, seemingly forgotten. Still others yearn for blessings of marriage and family that are yet unrealized.
The word motherhood defines woman's eternal role. Eve received the title "Mother of All Living" in the Garden of Eden, before she ever had children. Daughters in My Kingdom (pg. 156), tells us that "the word, mother, describes the nature of nurturers. It means to train, to teach, to educate, to foster development, to promote growth, and to nourish." That is still a daunting role.
Elder Neal A. Maxwell taught, "When in situations of stress we wonder if there is any more in us to give, we can be comforted to know that God, who knows our capacity perfectly, placed us her to succeed. No one was foreordained to fail or to be wicked. When we have been weighed and found wanting, let us remember that we were measured before and we were found equal to our tasks; and , therefore, let us continue, but with a more determined discipleship. When we feel overwhelmed, let us recall the assurance that God will not over-program us; he will not press upon us more than we can bear."
So, sisters, let us go forward relying on the Savior and his Gospel and our membership in Relief Society and have a Happy Mother's Day. Sister LaDawn Bolander

Preparedness
President Hinkley said: "There are seasons in our lives. Seasons when we can prepare and work, when the sun shines, and the air is warm, and there are other seasons when the storms of life would beat upon us and destroy us if they could. Summer is the time for preparation against the harshness of winter.
We need to plant a garden to work during the summer to have a harvest in the Fall. Brandie Timm

Sister Spotlight
Our spotlight is on Angela Martin. She grew up on a farm in Othello, Washington. She graduated from High School and in 1991 came to Rexburg, to go to beauty school. After graduating from beauty school, she married Don Brent Martin in October of 1993.
They have 3 daughters, Megan, Morgan and Madalyn. After working doing hair, she decided to stay home and be a Mom.
In 2000 they moved to Shelley. Loved a small town, and being outdoors. Every Spring she gets homesick for the farm. Loves to go camping with family. She started work in 2007 at Aspen Grove which late became Safe Haven. She started out as an assistant, then in 2010 went back to school and got her CNA and in 2012 she got her Administrators License. She says she loves to work with people with disabilities and see the smile on their faces. She loves crafts, sewing, quilting and doing things with her girls. She loves her family very much.

Lesson Recap
Sister Kim Strupp gave a wonderful lesson on a talk given by" Tad R. Callister"
Our Identity and Our Destiny
You are child of God. He is the Father of your spirit. Spiritually you are one of noble birth, the offspring of the King of Heaven. Fix that truth in your mind and hold it. However, many generations in your mortal ancestry, no matter what race or people you represent, the pedigree of your spirit can be written on a single line. YOU are a child of God.
Please, sisters go to LDS.org, and search "Identity, and Destiny", and up will come Elder Tad Callister's talk. Please print it and study it. You will feel a powerful witness of your Heavenly Father's love.

Also please read and study the gifts of the spirit found in Moroni 10,
D&C 46, and 1 Corinthians 12-13. Also I would encourage you to read
your patriarchal blessings and remember that ,"If any of us are
imperfect, it is our duty to pray for the gift that will make us
perfect. If you are angry it is your duty to pray for charity, If your
hurt pray for peace. Review some of the less-conspicous gifts like: the
gift of asking, the gift to avoid contention, the gift of caring for
others, the gift of not passing judgement, the gift of kindness, the
gift to be able to ponder. I challenge you to pick a gift and pray for
it. Kim Strupp
